Artist’s Bio

Kimberly Clingan is a self-taught visual artist based in North Texas, specializing in acrylic painting. Since 2021, she has passionately explored the world of vintage imagery, capturing the essence of petroliana, mid-century buildings, and the nostalgic charm of old signage and advertising. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant colors and styles of past decades, Kimberly creates works that evoke a sense of nostalgia and timelessness, offering a glimpse into a bygone era.

With a keen eye for detail, her acrylic paintings are rich in texture and color, often focusing on the faded beauty of vintage gas stations and retro advertisements that once adorned the American landscape. Kimberly’s work celebrates the visual history of American culture, preserving these iconic symbols that have since been overshadowed by modernity.

Though self-taught, Kimberly’s dedication to her craft has led to rapid growth as an artist, gaining recognition in the local art community. She has won multiple awards over the last few years at the Texas State Fair and the North Texas State Fair.  Through her distinctive use of the acrylic medium and “abstractish-ish” style, she creates a bridge between the past and present, allowing viewers to connect with memories of a time long gone. Kimberly’s work continues to evolve, with an ongoing exploration of vintage themes and the emotional impact of historic imagery.
